Kontakt 5 Player is a free music composition and editing program known for many audio samples. This is a stripped down version of the full Kontakt 5 software, so there are some features and tools missing. At the same time, amateur music editors will find this program useful due to its numerous tools and samples to choose from.

Relatively Large Number of Loops

For a free program, you'll find that Kontakt 5 Player has a very large number of loops and samples to choose from. Not only that, but there are virtual instruments that you can play to make your own music. If you're new to music editing and want to learn an industry-standard software without paying lots of money, then Kontakt 5 Player might be right for you.

At the same time, while this program has many loops and samples for a free program, the full version easily dwarfs this one. The full program not only has many more samples, but it can load music libraries from external sources. The free version is very limited in this regard. While there are some libraries that you can load, most will only work with the paid version. Not only that, but any program with files for Kontakt will only work with the full version. There are some demo files that you can upload, but they only play for 15 minutes before they stop working.

Fantastic Interface

Kontakt is an industry-standard music editing program for a reason. Despite its large number of loops, samples and virtual instruments, it features a streamlined and graphic-heavy interface that ensures you can easily find what you're looking for. While this free version does have some locked tools and features, the program itself is virtually the same.

If you're curious about how to use Kontakt 5 but you don't want to spend money for the full version, then this gives you some time with the program.

Expandable Software

If you need more loops to expand your library, then there are many downloadable packs that you can find either for free or for a small amount of money. These packs install quickly and should only take several minutes to integrate with your program. Just make sure that the packs are specifically for Kontakt 5 Player and not the full version.

Amateur Use

If you are expecting a professional music program for editing commercial tracks or orechestras, then this software might disappoint you with its lack of features. If you are instead looking for an amateur music editing program, then this will be perfect for your needs. It has many tools, loops and features. Just make sure that you are using this the right way and this program will treat you well.
